About the game
2048 is a compact sliding-tile puzzle built around one rule: when two matching numbers collide, they merge into a tile worth twice as much. Every move shifts the entire board, so progress depends less on chasing the nearest match and more on preserving an ordered structure. Keeping the largest tile anchored near a corner gives new numbers room to enter while smaller tiles can be combined in a predictable direction.
How to play
- Arrow keys: slide every tile up, down, left, or right
- Swipe on a touchscreen to move the board
- Press New Game to clear the board and begin another run
Tips
- Keep your highest tile in one corner and avoid moves that pull it into the center.
- Build a descending chain along the edge beside your anchor tile.
- Before each move, check where a new tile could appear and whether it will block your next merge.
